Lokhitam Thalassemia Society

Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder which is transferred from the parents to the child in which a patient cannot make enough Red Blood Cells and needs to be supplemented with RBC transfusion every 2-3 weeks to stay healthy and to survive. The disease has the only cure i.e. Bone Marrow Transplant, which is too costly to be done.

Lokhitam Thalassemia Society working under the aegis of Shri. Ashok Agarwal (Farah). Society has numbers of children cases. Lokhitam Thalassemia Society providing regular blood supply to these children’s free of cost and without testing charges.

To promote collaboration with Hospitals and NGO’s and create better transfusion and treatment facilities

To counsel and educate thalassemics, their families and doctors on the management of Thalassemia

Creat Awareness

To create awareness among public and facilitate screening and prevention programme for control of Thalasemia
