Lokhitam Samajik Sanstha was founded on August 20, 2000 in guidance of Honourable Aazad Mohan Agarwal and its inauguration was jointly done by Dr. Rambabu Harit (Minister of State for Health and Medical, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh) and Dr. Munishwar Gupta (Director of Kamayani Hospital, Agra). Universally Lokhitam Blood Bank (An Undertaking of Lokhitam Samajik Sanstha) was established on May 17, 2010 by Param Pujya Sharnanand Maharaj Ji. Lokhitam Blood Bank is listed in top blood banks of Agra as well as in entire Uttar Pradesh to have the new hi-tech machines for security purpose because Lokhitam believe working for the society. Lokhitam have such high tech machines from Swaziland like Cobas which help the patient to overcome with no reaction after transfusion of Blood.

Lokhitam Blood Bank also the second blood bank in Agra to start unexpected Anti-Body screening in donors and patients. We are supporting numbers of Thalassemia patients who need regular blood transfusions. In the history of Agra as well as in Uttar Pradesh, We have detected World rarest Blood Group i.e. Bombay Blood Group. On June 24, 2018 we have provided very rare Bombay Blood to patient Mrs. Poonam Sharma residence of Baldev, Mathura in Agra thereby saving the life of a 8 month Pregnant Lady through calling 2 Bombay Blood Group donors from Maharashtra as the blood for her was not available anywhere in Uttar Pradesh.

The goal of the organization is to remove the misconceptions spread in society regarding Blood Donation. Most of the people are unaware about this noble cause. If we leave out illiterate or less educated peoples, even well educated peoples are afraid to donate blood. India is a country of charity since ancient times. We make many types of donations for human welfare. From time immemorial, the sacred spirit of India has been “Lokhitam Mam Karniyam” (लोकहितम् मम करणीयम्). The pages of history are filled with various kinds of charity, which has been done by our sages, emperors, and the general public. Now there is a need to spread the message of this donation from door to door.

From May 2010 Lokhitam Blood Bank has approximately supplied 35,111+ Units of Whole Blood, 42,136+Units of Packed Cells (PRBC),  32,955+ Units of Platelets, 38,167+ Units of Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP) and 2,599 Units of Jumbo Pack Platelets (SDP) to the patients.

Blood cannot be manufactured in factories. It can only come from generous donors.
According to WHO data, India faces a shortage of 3 million blood units. This shortage can easily be eliminated if only an additional 2% of India’s youth donates blood. To make this possible, Ek Pahel, DAAN Foundation, Blood Connect and acts as a channel connecting voluntary blood donors with those who need blood. These are the youth-run organizations and provide free help and specially works to target the poor and the needy.
